The following initiative aims to utilize mapping technology to project a film onto several surfaces of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein in Essen.

“Aus-Länder” is a film that dwells on the topic of migration in the Nordrhein-Westfalen federal state as a tribute to its historical, vigorous immigration flow that flourished because of its strategic geographical location and its rich topography. Many of the Revier cities were industrial hubs for over a century before the NRW had to gradually shift from a coal and steel nerve center to a service and culture-driven mega region. Within this magnificent industrial past, Zollverein rises as a symbolic archetype for the resources, the lifestyle, the people, and the vibrant migration so intrinsically connected to the Ruhr area.

„Aus-Länder“ ist ein Film, der sich mit dem Thema Migration im Bundesland Nordrhein-Westfalen befasst, als Hommage an seine historische, starke Zuwanderung, die aufgrund seiner strategischen geografischen Lage und seiner reichen Topografie florierte. Viele der Revierstädte waren über ein Jahrhundert lang industrielle Zentren, bevor sich NRW allmählich von einem Kohle- und Stahlzent- rum zu einer dienstleistungs- und kulturorientierten Megaregion wandeln musste. In dieser großartigen industriellen Vergangenheit erhebt sich Zollver- ein als symbolischer Archetyp für die Ressourcen, den Lebensstil, die Menschen und die lebendige Migration, die so untrennbar mit dem Ruhrgebiet verbunden sind.

"Aus-Länder" es una película que explora el tema de la migración en el estado de Renania del Norte-Westfalia como homenaje a su fuerte inmigración histórica, que floreció gracias a su estratégica ubicación geográfica y su rica topografía. Muchas de las ciudades mineras fueron centros industriales durante más de un siglo antes de que NRW tuviera que transformarse gradualmente de un centro del carbón y el acero a una mega-región orientada a los servicios y la cultura. Five surfaces in Zollverein will act as split screens to be projected onto, they are thought and considered as counting clockwise from building A at the center of the entrance area, to building E located at the left.
The audience will be free to move around the middle section as shown in the following images:
